I'm quite lucky having awesome co-workers as I was constantly being taken out for lunch my last 3 weeks there. I chose Blaue Gans since I've heard some great things about Kurt Gutenbrunner's cooking and Schnitzel sounded hella fun. Good times and some tasty food they're serving up here.
Our Menu
Red Cabbage Salad, Apples, Walnuts And Lingonberries **
Simple, but so up my strike zone. Great crunch and loved the sweet sour thing going on with the apples and lingonberries.
Wiener Schnitzel with potato-cucumber salad and lingonberries *
Delicious schnitzel with a great light crunchy crust. Really delicious combo with the lingonberries and potato-cucumber salad. The main complaint was the schnitzel was slightly dry - not terribly so, but noticeable after trying the Prime Meats schnitzel.
Apple Strudel with tahitian vanilla ice cream *
A light dessert and fun way to end the meal.

Overall Restaurant Experience
- Food (B-) – Solid Austrian food and perfect for lunch.
- Service (B) – Food came out relatively quick and the server was good with recommending the dishes and brews.
- Atmosphere (A) – Place had tall ceilings and was quite large with tons of light. It did have this eurotrash/divebar type of feel which is a-OK in my book. We got there at 12:30 and were seated immediately. It seems like it would fit 50-60 people, but it was pretty empty for lunch. The only people there were either tourists or suits.
- Price (A) - $23 for 3 courses - solid deal for some fun food
A pretty fun place and definitely should be in any lunchtime rotation in tribeca.
