In Search of Perfection

To get my food tv fix, I've recently discovered Planet Green which is basically a tree hugger channel mixed with some great food shows. I've been completely hooked on Heston Blumenthal's "In Search of Perfection" - he of the world renowned Fat Duck in Bray, England.

The show is kinda like:
a) Tyler's Ultimate (first season) - as he goes to specific regions to understand why the dish is so special over there - Beijing for Peking Duck!
b) Good Eats - in the way he breaks down the science of food, but it's much better since the techniques here are from a phenomenal restaurant chef and his explanations are clear and concise
c) America's Test Kitchen - since he samples tons of product and cooking techniques to figure out which is best for his recipe

Phenomenal show and highly, highly recommended - though I'm pretty sure this is edited down from the original BBC format since it's only a half hour and the editing seems a bit choppy.

I think there are newer episodes released in England, so hopefully they release those stateside. Love that catchy theme song too...
