Shake Shack - Review (Aramis)

Intro
Shake Shack - Not Recommended
Madison Square Park, New York 10010

After Porthos's positive review, I decided to check Shake Shack out. My criteria for a great burger is a nice beefy flavor, good crust, and a super juicy burger. The shack burger does not have meet any of the criteria. The burger is exactly the same burger as Steak n Shake's burger, a thinner patty that is packed in (which affects the texture), not juicy, and no real beefy flavor. Granted it's OK, but I would not really recommend it. Overall, I give the place a 70/100.

My Menu
1) Shack Burger - Average
2) Chicago Dog - Not Recommended
3) Cheese Fries- Recommended

Overall Restaurant Experience (70/100)

  • Food 7.0/10 - An OK burger, a subpar dog, but decent cheese fries.
  • Service N/A - You get the burger yourself. 18-20 year olds are serving and they're relatively nice.
  • Atmosphere 8/10 - It's nice since it's outside, but this is a pretty unrelaxing park seeing cars whizzing by. Mix of mothers and kids, young couples, and groups of people. The waits are very long.
  • Price 7/10 - Everything was OK and somewhat worth the price. The dog definitely was not though.

Closing Comments
I can't recommend this place, since there are better burger joints (e.g. Corner Bistro). Also, for the wait it's definitely not worth it. Only if you want to hang out outside, than this place would be decent. I have to add that a buddy in our group got the Shack Stack (trilogy of hamburger, shack burger and 'shroom burger) which he raved about.

***UPDATED*** Recommended for the shack burger - read comments here.
